The Haunted Wedemeyer Academy

The Wedermeyer Family moved into this house in 1881 and instituted the Wedermeyer/ Belton Academy . Many famous and heroic figures graduated and lived at the academy, and many decided to stay.
Many neighbors who have lived in the neighborhood their entire lives have offered stories of the residence along with past generations of families who have lived here. There is a story of a woman who shot and killed an intruder trying to break in. There is the story of the Law brothers shooting an intruder running up the stairs and diving out a window to his death.
Neighbors claim to see a woman in a white dress occupying the upstairs windows. We have pictures of a dog in the same window. There are pictures of a young girl standing on a contractors ladder. Its a 3 bedroom 2 bath house with central heat and air, running water and full kitchen. Please bring chairs and blow up mattress or cots. We will supply towels and wash rags. We are going to be out fitting the house with bedding and linens soon.
